My only rule stylistically is that I basically have no rules! I have a very clear vision of how I like to approach photographing a wedding. But I’m willing, able, and flexible enough to make changes to my approach to satisfy the various needs of different personalities, logistics, weather, church restrictions, and time constraints.

My preference is to spend most of the day photographing in a completely unobtrusive, natural photojournalistic style. I greatly prefer real laughs, smiles, and tears of joy to any corny “Say Cheese!” approach to getting an expression.

Of course, I will also take your family and bridal party portraits. I know you want to spend most of your time relaxing and celebrating with your guests, so I work as quickly as possible while still striving to maintain the highest professional standards in lighting and attention to detail.

I also like to look for opportunities for some creative portraits. I love to place the bride and groom in a beautiful setting with great light and pleasant background scenery so you can enjoy yourself while I work quietly from a distance. Many couples appreciate this because it may be the first time in the day that they can get away from the crowds and have some romantic time together. It also makes for great, loving relaxed photographs.

I’m well aware of the fact that future generations of your family will experience your wedding day through my eyes and photographic story telling. I take that responsibility very seriously and I truly hope I get the honor of joining you on your wedding day.
